Last Friday was a huge day for 17-year-old Billy Bridge from Ellesmere Port as he was presented with the keys to a new Ford by non other than Her Majesty The Queen. Billy is set to be a future Paralympian as part of Great Britain's wheelchair basketball team and was selected, along with six other British Paralympians, to meet The Queen and receive keys to his brand new Ford car to celebrate the Motability scheme having sold its three millionth car.
M53 Ford has long supported the Motability scheme and has resident Motability experts in both our Wirral branches. Billy was delighted when he picked up his specially adapted, all-new Focus 1.6 Powershift on Monday at our M53 Ford Ellesmere Port branch. If you are interested in learning more about the Motability scheme and how M53 Ford can help, then visit our Motability page.
To help get business drivers on the road, M53 Ford has recruited its first-ever local business development specialist. John Parkinson joined us in the newly-created post at M53 Ford in June with an aim to build lasting relationships with Wirral-based companies and provide them with a one-stop-shop for all their motoring needs, from parts to servicing and car sales.
Talking about his role John says, "We provide a complete customer service and it's my job to make sure that local firms know how we can help them and their businesses. Whether local business customers are buying a new or used car, we will look after them every step of the way - from the day they buy their car until the day they trade it in or sell it on." Responsible for raising awareness of M53 Ford's business services, John is often out and about visiting firms, building up customer relationships and providing motoring solutions that customers can rely on. With a wealth of experience in the motor trade, including 22 years as a van and truck sales manager, 11 years with his own car rental company and eight as an area sales manager for a leading car and van rental firm, John is fully aware of what the customer needs and expects.
The girls of M53 Ford were out in force this month raising money for Cancer Research UK. 10 girls from both our Birkenhead and Ellesmere port dealerships tackled the 5km course around Birkenhead Park during the Wirral Race for Life event. M53 Ford was keen to support Cancer Research UK as they rely entirely on funding from the public. The girls, who donned their pink M53 Ford hats for the race, together managed to raise over £1000 to help with cancer research and care for those affected by cancer.
Claire house is a valuable local charity based in Bebington, which offers hospice facilities for children and young adults with life threatening or life limiting conditions. Without guaranteed government funding Claire House needs to raise over £2.5m each year to maintain the level of service it provides. To help this charity work continue, M53 Ford has donated an all new Ford Focus to keep Claire House on the road.
“It allows us to be accessible to every local community,” explains Katie Cartwright, Senior Claire House Cheshire area fundraiser. “We need transport in order to arrange fundraising visits, events and deliver merchandise. It helps us to raise awareness of what goes on here.”
