Ford Ranger Overview
The Ford Ranger has been ruthlessly tested in some of the most hostile environments, under extreme temperatures, and across the harshest terrain on earth.
The vehicle’s also been put to the test by some of the world’s most unforgiving judges, who voted the Ranger: International Pick-Up Award 2013. These leading motoring journalists were unanimous in their decision, giving Ranger more points than the combined total for both the second and third-placed vehicles.
No doubt the judges were impressed by the extra power, delivered by a new line-up of advanced Duratorq diesel engines, which can help you transport a payload of up to 1,340 kg and tow up to 3,500 kg. At the same time, the engines provide improved fuel economy while meeting Euro Stage V emissions standards.
With the ability to carry up to 1,240 Kg*, tow up to 3,500 kg** and wade through water up to 800 mm deep, Ranger is more than capable.
This is a vehicle you can depend on in the harshest environments, rely on for the toughest jobs and trust to deliver an exceptional driving experience, every day.

Voice and touch control technology with Ford SYNC 3 featuring a new 8” colour screen. Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert, a Lane Keeping System, Traffic Sign Recognition and Driver Alert: all are significant new features available on an already well specified vehicle.
Engine and transmission improvements, including additions such as Auto Stop Start and new final drive ratios, plus a new Electric Power Assisted Steering system, contribute to outstanding fuel economy and CO2 emissions from 43.5mpg (6.5L/100km) and 171g/km, making Ranger an ideal choice for business and pleasure, work and play.
Go hands-free with SYNC 3
SYNC 3 is our most advanced version to date. It’s faster and easier to use, with enhanced voice commands and even more functionality. The new interface has larger buttons for improved usability, and the 8” Touchscreen now features pinch-and-swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets for even more intuitive navigation. SYNC 3 also features AppLink, Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto, to display your smartphone’s information on the touchscreen.
*Please note: Full SYNC 3 smartphone integration is only available with iPhone 5/Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. Some SYNC 3 functions require a data connection, so mobile data charges will apply. To check whether Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available in your market, please check official Apple CarPlay and Android Auto websites for the latest information.
Cruise control that can adapt automatically
With Adaptive Cruise Control technology, you choose the speed you want to drive at and the system will maintain it.
If the built-in radar sensor detects a vehicle ahead, it will slow the car to maintain a pre-set distance. Once the road in front is clear, the system will accelerate back to your chosen speed.
Forward Alert, always looking ahead
This system can alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front and may help avoid an accident.* Radar in the front of the New Ranger detects slower vehicles traveling in the same direction, and provides a visual and audible warning if they’re rapidly approaching. If you don’t react and continue to get closer to the other vehicle, New Ranger will pre-charge and increase brake assist sensitivity, so even if the brakes are pressed lightly, they’ll automatically apply a harder force to stop you quickly.
* This system is designed to be a supplementary driving aid. It is not intended to replace the driver’s attention, and judgment, or the need to apply the brakes. This system does NOT activate the brakes automatically. Failure to press the brake pedal to activate the brakes may result in a collision.
An advanced system to help you stay in your lane
A Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Alert then warns you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. If you're slow to react or don’t respond, Lane Keeping Aid can provide steering torque assistance to help guide you safely back into the right lane. The technology is designed for multi-lane roads (like motorways), so will automatically deactivate at speeds below 43mph (65 kph) or can be turned off manually.
Selectable 4x4 for any terrain
Choose 4x2 for regular driving, 4x4 High Range for poor road surfaces and dirt tracks and 4x4 Low Range for exceptionally challenging terrain.
Using Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly you can also switch between 4x2 and 4x4 High Range, whilst on the move.
