Things to do in Chester

Chester is a fabulous place to visit at any time of year, but summer visitors see it at its very best. With a host of attractions just waiting to be discovered, it has something to entertain the whole family, from grandparents to tots. Here are some of our favourite things to do in Chester.

Chester Zoo

A popular option with young and old alike, Chester Zoo is home to an array of exotic species including aardvarks, rhinos, orangutans, cheetahs and more. It also offers a play area and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat while you meet the residents.

Chester Cathedral

If history and architecture appeal, don’t miss a tour of Chester Cathedral. Founded in the 11th century, it’s a stunning example of Gothic design, and the surrounding gardens are a pleasant place for a stroll. Falconry displays take place daily, and the children’s nature trail introduces little ones to the local wildlife.

Dewa Roman Experience

Head back in time to the days of the Roman centurions at this historic site. One of the largest legionary fortresses in Roman Britain, it’s a great place to learn about life as a soldier of one of Europe’s greatest empires.

Chester Racecourse

Fancy a flutter? Chester Racecourse is the ideal place to see first-class competitive horse racing, and perhaps even place a bet on the outcome of a race or two. The vibrant atmosphere makes for a day you won’t soon forget, and there are plenty of premium snacks and beverages to sample too.

River cruise

Why not take in the attractions of this stunning city from the water? Sail along the River Dee and view the sights as a guide offers up interesting facts and anecdotes about the history and heritage of Chester.

Of course, while we don’t rate our dealerships among Chester’s finest attractions, you’re welcome to pay us a visit here at M53 Ford. We’ll be delighted to introduce you to our vehicles and take you for a test drive.
